The End of Time

“We still design technologies with the hope that in the future they will save of us time … but they don’t save time … they spend it.”

“In the Apocalypse the angel swears that there will be no more time … When all mankind attains happiness then there will be no more time , for there’ll be no need for it … Time’s not an object but an idea. It will be extinguished in the mind.”

- Dostoyevsky

It’s so easy to knock oneself during the present, but have you ever looked back at old pictures? You rarely knock your “old” self. So what’s the difference between back then and now? Nothing, as is the same between now and the future. Why knock yourself at present if chances are you won’t later?

Before Us

I understand and wish. Happily. Myself.

However any past life or future yearn is still mostly disbelief to me.

When you were born? How was that? What was that like? How was that inside of a womb? Point is, how was that before the womb?

My first memory at this point was more of a traumatic one. So it brings me back.

Past life … they say angel … is fine and dandy, and maybe it’s true … but if it is, maybe it has nothing to do with you as entity. Can we hold onto this?

Heaven. A word. Where? Why? When? We were born and heard this … and that.

Do you want a heaven? How is life now? What is heaven for you then? Do you want to live forever? Do you want to hop in the clouds with billions upon billions of well what with well what purpose? What is the purpose “up” there?

“And therein lies the whole of man’s plight. Human time does not turn in a circle; it runs ahead in a straight line. That is why man cannot be happy: happiness is the longing for repetition.”

- Milan Kundera

“Sometimes I’m terrified of my heart; of its constant hunger for whatever it is it wants. The way it stops and starts.”
